The University of Port Harcourt Management has approved the suspension of normal academic activities and instructed all year one students currently on campus to vacate their hostels and return to their respective homes.
A statement by the registrar, Mrs Gloria Chinda, stated that this became necessary following the commencement of the one month warning strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The statement advised the students to use the opportunity to prepare for their examination as examinations will commence immediately at resumption of nornal academic activities.
It said, “the university shall duly communicate the affected students on the new date of resumption”.
