The National Director, Christian Religion Affairs and Mobilization for the Renewed Hope Grassroot Network, Apst Richard Ihunwo has urged supporters of Rivers state Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to stop lamenting about his exclusion in the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign council list, describing the furore over the issue as completely unnecessary
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the director advised that rather than resorting to needless complaints that could disrupt the peace of the state, the governor’s supporters should focus on how to ensure the re-election of Bola Tinubu as well as election of Kingsley Chinda, the presidential and Rivers governorship candidates of APC, respectively.
Ihunwo who is also the Director of Mobilization and Monitoring in OK CHINDA Political Vanguard, argued that Gov. Fubara does not have the kind of political network and structure required to defeat the opposition parties in the state.
He opined that the former Governor and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike’s inclusion in the council as campaign coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT, was a good decision, considering that he has control of the political structure in Rivers State and is also able to deliver the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.
“As members of the APC family, we should not let Gov. Fubara’s exclusion in the PCC tear us apart.
“With all available statistics, formidable political structure on ground in Rivers State and across other states in our country Nigeria, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is sure to win the forthcoming presidential election scheduled to hold on 16/01/2027.
“While RT. Hon Kingsley Ogundu Chinda popularly called “OK CHINDA” is also sure to win next year’s governorship election because the emergence of OK CHINDA and Hon.Major Jack is a clearer indication that Rivers State citizens shall enjoy peace and accelerated development in all ramifications.
“I therefore appeal to all politically injured or disappointed citizens of Rivers State to give peace a chance bearing in mind that the present Governor of Rivers State, H/E,Sir Siminialayi Fubura once said; There’s no price too heavy to pay for peace to reign”, Ihunwo said.
