A yet- to- be identified Pastor suspected to be a catholic Priest, today drove away all his congregants who have not obtained their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
This was contained on a tweet shared on Twitter by Arch Angel Jesse.
Jesse, who confirmed this said, the event took place early Sunday at a church in Enugu State, which he did not disclose, adding that the Pastor denied his Congregation without PVC entrance to worship.
The video showed an anonymous Nigerian Pastor wearing a white cassock, enlightening his congregation on the need for PVC registration, as those without PVC were asked to return home.
The viral video showed the Pastor, standing in front of his congregation outside the church entrance saying, “From today, as you come for mass carry your PVC,”
The Pastor further said, Christians need to take their roles and responsibilities with seriousness by registering to get their PVC, as those without PVC were asked to “Return home until they have completed and given their PVC Card, to enable them cast their votes in the coming general elections.
The tweet which was shared, elicited alot of controversial comments.
Some of the comments condemned the action of the Pastor as “Rubbish” as some argued that the pastor does not have the right to deny his congregants their rights to worship.
Meanwhile, some others who commented, praised the Pastor saying, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.
They further stated that, it doesn’t have to only be money, responsibilities and obligations as well should be given in due proportion.”
However, following the closure of CVR Registration, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) say, Nigerians will soon hear from the Commission on the extension of CVR registration.
