A public affairs analyst, sotonye Ijuye-Dagogo has blamed President Bola Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola for the unending political crisis in Rivers State.
In a statement posted on his facebook page, the analyst decried the silence of the duo on the matter.
The statement reads; ”President Bola Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola must take responsibility for the unending political crisis in Rivers State.
”President Tinubu condones the excesses of his FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and CJN Ariwoola sits at the top the judiciary that feasts on the Rivers State crisis rather than resolve it urgently.
”For ten months and counting, pro-Wike supporters have deliberately distracted governance in the state and disrupted public peace.
”President Tinubu sees and hears the problems his minister is causing in Rivers State but for reasons best known to Mr. President, he has refused to call his appointee, Nyesom Wike to order.
”During the same period, different courts and various levels of courts have polluted the polity and complicated matters with all sorts of injunctions and counter injunctions; orders and counter orders; judgments and counter judgments.
”For months unending, the courts are unable to resolve the simple issue of the defection of the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and their status as lawmakers.
”For that same period, the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the Chairman of NJC, Olukayode Ariwoola has said nothing.
”Now the perpetrators are emboldened by the silence of Mr. President and the CJN. They have gone violent, unleashing mayhem on the streets.
”It was at Ikwerre and Obio/Akpor LGAs yesterday. Hoodlums suspected to be supporters of President Bola Tinubu’s FCT Minister unleashed violence on perceived political opponents. It was reported that they did it right under the nose of the police.
”This will certainly spill into other areas of Rivers State if Mr. President and the Chief Justice of Nigeria keep looking the other way.
