A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC),Chief Eze Chukwumeka has described the outcome of the gubernatorial election in Osun state as a pointer to Gov. Nyesom Wike’s insignificance in the scheme of things.

The APC chieftain stated this in a statement issued on Monday and made available to media houses in  Abuja

“By this victory, Alh. Atiku Abubakar and the People’s Democratic Party have proven the irrelevance of Gov. Nyesom Wike and his marauding political compadres who have constituted themselves into demi-gods, without whose membership and support the PDP will go into extinction”, he said.

Eze further said Wike’s reluctant posture on the Osun election is another factor that helped Sen. Adeleke and the PDP to clinch victory.

“Had Wike joined in the campaign, Ademola and the PDP would have lost, because the people of Osun were ready to vote individual and to see Wike, a wasteful wrongdoer who has misappropriated billions public funds, frolicking with their preferred candidate would have wrecked his chances of victory because most conscious voters would have definitely withdrew their support”, he noted.”

Having worked under Atiku for several years, Chief Eze said he knows the former Vice President as a deadly strategist who may look calm but very calculative.

Congratulating Sen. Adeleke for a well deserved victory, the party chieftain urged the Governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory, put the people of Osun as his major priority and set up a government that will truly work for the future and progress of the State

“From the records, Mr Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled over 400,000 votes to unseat his closest challenger, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“Mr Oyetola trailed behind with over 375,000 votes in the exercise”, he recalled. .

Eze highlighted that with the new Electoral Act in operation, the determination of INEC and the unbiased stand of President Buhari, those election thieves who may still be relying on the defunct regime of rigging to win election in 2023, will definitely be disappointed because the will of the people will determine the outcome of every elections.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for their professionalism, Security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere and particularly the good people of Osun for responding through the ballots, with the timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people.
