A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, on Thursday, stated that the purported suspension of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and erstwhile Secretary to Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, by a non existing faction of the ADC in Adamawa State was driven by insatiable hunger ravaging those he described as enemies of democracy.
Eze, who was the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), said that Atiku has over the years carved a niche for himself as a political institution and beacon of democracy in Nigeria, such that his political dominance in Adamawa State transcends party lines.
He argued that it was hunger, deprivation and foolishness, -ironically inflicted on these same Adamawa prodigal sons by the Bola Tinubu led APC government- that prompted those he labelled “eke uke” (local breed) dogs to ridicule themselves with the purported suspension of Atiku and Babachir.
In a statement by his media office, Chief Eze pointed fingers to Tinubu and his All Progressives Congress “for condescending so low to the point of using brats and imbecilic minds to attempt a purported suspension of Atiku, one of Africa’s most refined democrats”.
“The purported suspension of Atiku, and Babachir is a callous act by a few ADC hunger-driven sycophants and enemies of democracy in Adamawa State.
“I lived in Adamawa State for over 25 years, and as a student of Atiku’s political school of thought as well as a member of his political dynasty, no living individual or group can make Atiku irrelevant in the politics and culture of Adamawa State, Eze stated.
He therefore dismissed the purported suspension with a wave of hand, stressing that it’s abnormal and unheard of that a docile tenant is asking an enterprising landlord to quit his own property.
“Without mincing words, I make bold to state categorically that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar sits atop the most potent and ever vibrant grassroots friendly political dynasty in Adamawa State.
“Who is this Raji Zumo, the self acclaimed factional chairman of ADC in Adamawa State?
“It is only under Tinubu and the APC that a riff-raff, social misfit and habitual betrayer will constitute a group and attempt purported suspension of leaders of a political party. Does it sound palatable to the ears, no, not all.
“Anyway, I will not join issues with the rabble-rouser and hungry Zumo and his insane group. They are acting a devious script for a hell bound movie, Eze said.
Eze urged the public to siff that action from Zumo, whom he called chairman of ‘colos and illicit substance takers group’ into the trash bin for its nuisance value.
The ADC chieftain cautioned Tinubu to desist from further engraving his already battered image in the annals of woeful Presidents ever witnessed in Nigeria.
“All these undemocratic and despotic acts toward undermining key opposition figures in the country are degrading of a man who erroneously prides himself as a democrat and political strategist.
“I call on Tinubu and the APC to trade softly, and halt these untowards acts now.
“With over 30 Governors hoodwinked into APC; all chanting ‘on your mandate we stand’ yet Mr President and his party are paranoid over the 2027 Presidential election.
“With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the conquered Judiciary, and State apparatchiks all dancing to the melodious tune from Aso Rock, yet Tinubu and APC are jittery heading into the 2027 General elections.
“Attempting to destabilize opposition politicians using INEC and the Judiciary to meddle into the internal affairs of political parties is a sign of a drowning goon, who is afraid of competitive election, Eze said.
The statement urged
Nigerians, particularly leading opposition figures, not to despair as no amount of witch-hunting, mudslinging undemocratic, barbaric, and despotic acts against them, will allow Tinubu to be re-elected in 2027.
“The President knows the game is over for him due to his abysmal performance in this first term; considering his administration’s inability to tackle the issue of insecurity, banditry, high wave of corruption, hunger, abject poverty, unemployment etc.
“He has turned himself a curse to Nigeria, and APC as the greatest enemy of Nigeria, Eze stated.
