All is now set for a workshop organised by a consultant, Zakclair Investments Limited and Defence Headquarters (DHQ) at Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
In a press release issued in Abuja and signed by the Programme officer, David T:J: Amusa, said that the workshop with the theme:”Use of Broadcasting in Complementing the Military in Conflict Mitigation and Management”, scheduled to hold from Thursday 27th to Friday 28th April 2023, will be graced by the Minister of Defence, Maj-Gen Bashir Magashi, as special guest of honour.
It added that Gen LEO Irabor and Service Chiefs will be in attendance as chief host and guests of honour, respectively while, Dr. John Momoh is expected to be the Chairman of the occasion.
According to the release, the workshop will feature interactive sessions, involving discussions of personal experiences and presentations by resource persons drawn from the military, educational and broadcasting sectors including, Maj-Gen Abdul Wahab, Director-General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, Maj-Gen Chris Olukolade (rtd), Former Director of Information, Defence Headquarters, Abuja and Prof. Armstrong Idachaba. Head of Mass Communication Department, Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu and former Director, Broadcast Monitoring, NBC. Also, Prof. Walter Ihejirika, Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of PortHarcourt, Choba, Rivers state, Stella Din Jacob, Head, News Communication, TVC, Mr. Peter Igho, Former Executive Director (Programming), NTA, Dr. Solomon Arase, Former IGP and Chairman Police Service Commission, Abuja, Prof. Umaru Pate, Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Kashera, Gombe State and Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, Director, Directorate of Research and Policy Analysis, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution.
It noted that the participants will be drawn from content creators and programmers in many radio and television stations across the country.
