Operatives of the Rivers state police command have killed two notorious kidnappers, including a gang leader nicknamed ‘Occasion’, during a shootout in a forest in Emuoha Local Government of Rivers State.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, revealed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
She said that the command also rescued four people who were found blindfolded in the kidnappers’ den.
SP Iringe-Koko added that the kidnap victims had been in captivity for two days.
Speaking to newsmen, one of the kidnap victims, a commercial driver, narrated that he was on a routine trip back to Port Harcourt when he noticed an obstruction on the road caused by a huge tree trunk blocking the road.
He said six men later came out from the bush and whisked them away.
