An elder statesman in Rivers state, Senator Bennett Birabi has said that the chances of the Ogoni producing the next governor of Rivers State in 2023 is very slim.
The elder statesman who stated this In an interview with a radio station in Port Harcourt, explained that the chances would have been brighter if an Ogoni had either the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) or the All Progressives Congres(APC) governorship ticket.
Speaking further, Senator Birabi accused some Ogoni politicians of sabotaging the Ogoni 2023 governorship aspiration.
The elder statesman regretted that some politicians scuttled his move to mobilize support for the Ogoni governorship aspiration.
He said the Ogoni politicians especially those in the PDP thought that by abusing him they would be favoured to get the governorship ticket of the party.
