Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says youths in the State have the innate abilities to succeed in life if they strive for excellence in their chosen career.
Dr. Banigo made this assertion in a good will message from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday 11th August, 2021 to felicitate with youths as they celebrate the 2021 International Youths Day.
The Deputy Governor who said there was no substitute for hard work, added that the theme for this year’s celebration which is “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, underscores the need for youths to be actively involved in the quest to ensure food security and the preservation of the ecosystem.
Dr. Banigo said under the watch of Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike the State Government has continued to provide skills for self-employment through agriculture, in arts and digital economy to develop the potentials our youths have.
“We have deliberately invested hugely in the education sub sector to build human and infrastructural capacity as well as creating the enabling environment, it therefore behooves on young people to take advantage of it and better their lives, because in the long run they would discover that life is what you make of it”. Dr. Banigo reiterated.
It would be recalled that the 12th of August each year is set aside to commemorate the International Youth Day. The Theme for this year is “Transforming Food System: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”.
