A political analyst, Emeka Mba, has condemned the altercation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and a military officer in Abuja.
In statement posted on his facebook page, on Tuesday, the analyst lambasted Wike for saying the military officer was foolish.
“Wike saying a uniformed member of the Nigerian armed forces is foolish, was not an insult on the officer , it was rather an insult on the Nigerian Coat of Arm, an insult on the Nigerian Armed forces and ultimately, an insult on the Commander in chief of the Armed forces, which is the president and Wikes employer.
“What Wike exhibited today was official misconduct of the highest degree. No dosage of Alcohol intake should have made him veer off towards that lane.
“The part where Wike ordered his security details to physically engage the Naval officers , which in turn earned one of Wikes security detail a dirty slap from a naval officer , will forever remain an unforgettable eyesore.
“Wikes behavior today remains one the most uncouth , unrefined, Crude , Boorish and uncivilized we have seen of him yet.
“This is not the behavior of someone holding an office in trust for the president. He made nonsense of that delegated Authority. An Authority which does not grant him leverage to disparage the Nigerian Armed forces.
“Wike has brought the office of the president to disrepute.
“I expect the Secretary to the Govt of the federation to officially query Wike and sanction him accordingly and openly for all to see and learn.
“I also expect the defense headquarters to lodge an official protest and complaint to the presidency , against Wike demanding an unreserved Apology from wike, to be published on at least 5 National dailies”, he wrote.
