Niger Delta ex – militants under the aegis of the third phase of the presidential Amnesty Program have explained why the tempo and intensity of protest by ex-militants sharply decreased in the Niger Delta region recently.
The group said the reason for the decline was due to the commendable developmental strides of the Interim Administrator, Retired Col Millad Dixon Dikio.
Speaking to journalists after an exhaustive and enlarge meeting of delegates and stakeholders in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, the Acting National Secretary of the Third phase of ex – agitators, Elaye Slaboh who was flanked by the state Chairman, Oscar Jackson, said they have all stopped blocking federal roads and incessant protests which had given the region bad names and keyed into the new vision of the Interim Administrator.
“The vision he has introduced had endeared ex – agitators to desist from protests and blocking of federal roads”,they stated.
The group commended the administrator for partnering the Central Bank of Nigeria that gave them the privilege to access loans with which they will become entrepreneurs and self reliance.
