Unknown Gunmen attacked a tricycle driver and in a bid to snatch his tricycle popularly called ‘keke Napep”, stabbed him in his ribs and shot at passers-by who raised alarm on the robbery, which took place along Diliosa road at Eliowhani town, Obio-Akpor local government area in Rivers State.

Eyewitnesses told Metronetworknews that the driver was rushing for early morning business when he encountered the hoodlums.

They beckoned on him to stop. On stopping he found out that they were not passengers but criminals.

In an attempt to escape, they stabbed him and left him in the pool of his own blood.

Efforts by passers-by to chase them was futile as they opened fire on them.

Meanwhile, good Samaritans have taken him to an undisclosed hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Efforts to speak with the police public relations officer proved abortive.
