Atleast two persons have reportedly died after being trapped for hours in a deep pit dug for illegal bunkering in the Orita J4 Pipeline Ogbere area of Ogun State.
It was gathered from a police source that the incident occurred on Christmas day.
According to the source, the duo got trapped when the pit caved in.
In separate images sighted by newsmen on Tuesday, the two lifeless bodies of the deceased suspects were seen covered in the mud and lying on the floor where the crime was suspected to have been committed.
Confirming the incident, the state command’s Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, said the corpses had been deposited at a morgue for presentation.
She said, “One of the deceased suspects is called Super Asogbon. The other suspect is not known yet. The corpse had been taken to the Ajebandale morgue.”
