Three persons lost their lives on Friday around Emiloju Area, Ikirun, in Osun State when they were crushed by a truck.
It was gathered that two of the victims were on a motorcycle and the last one was just walking near the road.
.Eyewitnesses said the truck driver allegedly lost control and hit three of them.
They also said the truck driver fled immediately after the incident.
it was learnt that some displeased residents embarked on protest and attempted to hijack from the police some of the occupants of the truck who were initially rescued from the scene.
When contacted, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Paul Okpe, confirmed the accident, saying the truck was coming from Offa to Osun.
“Three people lost their lives. Two of them were on a motorcycle and the last one was just walking near the road. We lost lives due to reckless driving. We will keep engaging with the leadership of the truck drivers in the state to ensure safety on the road.”he said.
