Thousands of Rivers people on Saturday defied the heavy rainfall to match on the streets of Port Harcourt in support of the Labour party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter obi.
The exercise was tagged 2-Million-man March for Peter Obi.
The enthusiatic followers of Obi matched from the the popular Oil Mill Market through Aba road and converged at the Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt.
Some of them who spoke to Metronetworknews said the exercise was to show that “Peter Obi has the required structure” to win the presidential election come 2023.
One of them who gave his name as Paul Ebube, a Phone repairer, said; “The exercise is to tell people we are sick and tired of bad governance. we want a better Nigeria and we feel Peter obi will give us that better Nigeria.”
Continuing he said; ” Nobody was paid or pressured to join this 2 million-man movement in support of Obi. The buses, cars, trailers, public address systems, banners, flyers and every item you see here were voluntary contributions from individuals. We must take back Nigeria”.
