Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa said they can’t afford to underrate Liberia as both side clash in the match day five of FIFA World Cup qualifiers group phase.
The Gernot Rohr tutored side will be the guest of the Liberians in Morroco on Saturday with three points up for grabs.
Nigeria is the favorite to pick the sole ticket in the Group and victory over Lone Stars will further strengthen their position, ahead of last group game against Cape Verde in Lagos.
Speaking ahead of the Saturday’s clash, Musa said “We don’t have to underrate any opponent. We saw the video of their games against Cape Verde, they were unlucky to lose both games. Even the game we played in Lagos they did well”.
“We can’t say because it’s Liberia then underrate them. They have wonderful players and it’s going to be tough.”
Nigeria is currently leading Group C with nine points with three wins from four games, while Liberia is rooted at the bottom with zero win from same number of matches.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has stated ahead of Saturday’s world cup qualifier against Liberia’s Leone star that the Nigeria senior national team will respect their opponents and that the game won’t be an easy game.
Rohr speaking in a chat during the Presser ahead of the game said the Super Eagles have a tough game ahead of them and will approach the game against Liberia as such in a bid to pick maximum points on Saturday.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has charged the Nigerian Manufacturers to produce almost everything needed in the country which would translate to less imports, a stronger currency and economy.
According to a statement by Josephine Ademu, Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation on Friday, in Abuja, the Vice President gave the charge at the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSCHE) 51st Annual International Conference/AGM in Lagos.
Represented by Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Osinbajo pointed out that the Federal Government had worked assiduously to ensure that the country achieve economic diversification.
He said that the nation could not afford to be taken off guard as crude oil and gas were no longer the major fuel that drives global economies.
According to him, this is due to the fact that more technologically developed nations of the world have switched to clean and renewable energy.
He stressed that Nigeria must prepare for the future where crude oil, which had been its major source of revenue, would no longer occupy prominent position in the economies of many nations.
