Sunday Sermon| Why Use Of Anointing Oil For Ordination Is Unbiblical (Part 3)

Text: 2 Corinthians 3:6A
“Who (God) also hath made us able ministers of the new testament”
We thank God for His grace upon us as we are the products of His grace! We shall continue today from where we stopped last week Sunday.
Let us read and study further by digging deep into the commands God gave about the use of the anointing oil in the Old Testament under the Law of Moses:
The anointing oil shall not be poured on man’s flesh – Exodus 30:32 NKJV “It shall not be poured on man’s flesh…” This is how New International Version (NIV) put it – Exodus 30:32 NIV “Do not pour it on anyone else’s body…” For a better understanding, (New Living Translation) NLT put it like this: Exodus 30:32 NLT “It must never be used to anoint anyone else…”
The anointing oil shall not be made any other like it, according to its composition – Exodus 30:32 NKJV “…nor shall you make any other like it, according to its composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you.” This is how New International Version (NIV) put it – Exodus 30:32 NIV “…and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.” For a better understanding, (New Living Translation) NLT put it like this: Exodus 30:32 NLT “…and you must never make any blend like it for yourselves. It is holy, and you must treat it as holy.”
Therefore anointing oil was not for personal use according to the above scripture under the Law of Moses in the Old Testament.
God commanded in Exodus 30:33 that whoever prepares perfume or mixes perfume any like it (the anointing oil) must be cut off from the community of people – Exodus 30:33 NKJV “Whoever compounds (prepares or mixes) any like it, or whoever puts any of it (anoints) on an outsider, shall be cut off from his people.”
The interpretation of this scripture (Exodus 30:33 NKJV) in the New Testament is whoever or anyone disobeys shall cease to be called the true “child of God”, “Children of God”, “Sons of God”, “the church of the Living God”, “the church of Christ”, “the Bride of Christ.”
This means that many churches and their members due to their spiritual ignorance and lack of knowledge have disobeyed God by preparing, mixing anointing oils and using them for anointing, using them for the various purposes not instructed by God.
This means that many have been spiritually cut off from the community of God’s people and the Bible says God’s people are destroyed/perished for lack of knowledge; and it is not good for the soul of a Christian believer not to be without knowledge and it is through knowledge the just/righteous (the born again) shall be delivered – and you shall know the truth, the truth (the word of God) shall make you free: Hosea 4:6 NKJV, Isaiah 5:13 NKJV, Proverbs 19:2 NKJV, Proverbs 11:9 NKJV and John 8:32 NKJV “My people (God’s people; NOT Satan’s people) are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge….Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished…it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge… But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered…And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
By disobeying God’s instruction and using it (anointing oil), it means you are telling God that the Holy Spirit is not sufficient or enough for you in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit under the New Testament – and due to your lack of knowledge (spiritual ignorance), you are despising the finished works of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Cross of Calvary. You have every opportunity to repent now as the time of ignorance God overlooks – Acts 17:30 NKJV “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.”
The purposes of anointing oil in the Old Testament were not for personal use at all and take note that not every person was allowed to touch it for it was holy as God commanded.
In this dispensation of the Holy Spirit under the New Testament, it is unscriptural, unbiblical, and unchristian to use anointing oil. But it is unfortunate that many Christians are preparing, mixing, selling and buying anointing oils.
This man-made anointing oil under the New Testament, I believe it is not of God but demonic as Satan has taken advantage of their disobedience to the word of God on the purposes and use of the anointing oil recommended and commanded by God for Holy use only in the Old Testament.
Once again, this man-made anointing oil which is spiritually demonic in nature is NOT for personal use but many ignorant Christians are making various forms of anointing oils for themselves, selling and buying them for themselves – and anybody can touch and own them for they are not Holy but demonic.
Remember that according to God’s instruction in the book of Exodus 30:26-33, no other man except Moses was/had been instructed by God to make anointing oil.
The anointing oil in the Old Testament is a shadow while the Holy Spirit is the substance due to the finished works of Christ at the Cross of Calvary.
Therefore, anointing oil was of an Old Testament shadow of the Anointing Himself, the Holy Spirit, revealed in the New Testament under the New Covenant.
Every command and shadow pertaining its purpose, use, preparation/making, etc, reveals the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.
Once you are genuinely born again, the Lord Jesus Christ breathes on you to receive the Holy Spirit – and this spiritual experience had never happened in the Old Testament; it is only for the true Christians in the New Testament: John 20:22 KJV “And when he (Jesus Christ) had said this, he breathed on them (His disciples), and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit).”
The reason for the New Testament is Jesus Christ who is the substance: Colossians 2:17 KJV and Hebrews 10:1 KJV “Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body (substance) is of Christ… For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.”
The anointing oil of the Old Testament is the shadow of the substance of the Holy Spirit of the New Testament.
