The seven mysteries in the Bible (Part 2)
Today, by the special grace of God, we shall look at the mystery number one in the Bible.
To start with, let us define what is meant by the mystery of God.
WHAT IS THE MYSTERY OF GOD?
The mystery of God is what, how and why God does things that might be impossible to explain them clearly.
For instance, the ministry of the Trinity with Godhead – God is one with 3 parts – (1) God the Father (2) God the Son (Jesus Christ) and (3) God the Holy Spirit.
It is a mystery that it is impossible to explain it cleanly that God can separate Himself into 3 parts. This mystery makes it possible for Godhead by Jesus Christ to separate Himself, whereby Jesus Christ came down from heaven to the earth to die for the sin of the world. The Holy Trinity is a mystery.
THE SEVEN MYSTERIES OF GOD
(1) The mystery of godliness:
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
This mystery of godliness has to do with the deity of Jesus Christ as God.
1 Timothy 3:16 says without controversy, God was manifest in the flesh. This God who was manifest in the flesh is our Lord Jesus Christ – John 1:1, 14 KJV “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
1 Timothy 3:16 speaks of the mystery of Jesus Christ as God who came down from Heaven in human form to die for the sin of the world. It is a mystery!
It is a mystery for God Himself to come down to this earth – not only He came to this world but He limited Himself to human being and died for our sin!!
It is a mystery that God separated Himself into 3 parts – and one of the three parts is Jesus Christ who came down from heaven to the earth and died for the sin of the world – John 3:16 KJV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
This mystery is great and it is without controversy at all according to 1 Timothy 3:16.
By the special grace of God, next week, we shall scripturally study in details the mystery number two of God in the Bible.
