Atleast six female students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State who were among an unspecified numbers of students abducted by armed bandits have been reportedly rescued by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji of the Nigerian Army.
The hoodlums had invaded the students’ residence at Sabon-Gida in the early hours of Friday and took them away.
It was gathered that some of the hoodlums were killed by the troops during the rescue operation.
It was also gathered that operational motorcycles, One AK47 rifle and other items belonging to them were recovered.
A student of the university who pleaded to remain anonymous confirmed the report.
She said the bandits invaded the students’ area at midnight and kept shooting till they left
