The office of the President of the Senate has announced the death of the Special Assistant to the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, on Media, Mohammed Abdulkadir Isa.
In a statement Issued in Abuja by his Special Adviser, Ola Awoniyi, the Senate President, described him as a dedicated aide who was very professional in his journalistic calling.
The President expressed sadness over the tragic death, describing it as “shocking, heart-rending and a great loss.”
Senator Ahmed condoled with the bereaved family, the government and people of Katsina State, staff, colleagues and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the loss.
He prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss, forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
Awoniyi said Isa died on Friday evening while undergoing treatment for injuries he sustained in a motor accident on Sunday along the Minna-Suleja road, in Niger State.
