Cases of ritual killing and selling of Human Parts have been on the increase.
A lady(names withheld) on her way from Owerri, Imo State to Port Harcourt, Rivers state was kidnapped and her family asked to pay ransom.
She narrated that some of the kidnapped persons who could not pay got butchered and their parts sold to the human parts merchants.
There had also been many such stories in the media.

Following these information, State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, Casca Ogosu, has called for further investigation into claims that some forests in parts of the State are being used for organ trafficking.
Recently, Rivers state Civil Society Organizations( RIVCSO) led by the Chairman Comr. Enefaa Georgewill, visited the Commissioner of Police CP Eboka Friday and disclosed that information available to them showed that there was a thriving human parts market particularly in Etche local government area of the state.
However, the CP who initially doubted the information, promised to investigate it and get to the root.
The CP said that the command was still gathering information.
He promised that once they make contact, they will swing into action but he also warned the citizens not to take all that is thrown at them on social media.
He cited a situation where someone went on social media and made a claim of being kidnapped in Rivers State but when the police made investigation, it discovered that the person claimed to be a Nollywood actor and that the claim was just a script.
He warned the citizens to be watchful and assist the police with information that will lead to the arrest of criminals in their locality.
Meanwhile, a Consultant Nephrologist at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Fakrogha Prelador, was reported to have said that there are many people in need of organs transplant but go through the black market to get them due to lack of donors.
