Prince Ugo Beke, the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) in Rivers state, has commended the peaceful conduct of the Governorship and State House of Assemble elections in the state.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote at Unit 4, Elibrada Ward 3, Emohua, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, the guber candidate, hailed the electorate especially in Elibrada community for shunning all forms of violence during the elections.
He advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to live above board in the management of the elections, saying the way and manner they conducted it will to a very large extent determine the response of the contestants.
He vowed to challenge the outcome legally if any result emanating from the elections falls short of the standards set by the extant electoral laws regarding election management in Nigeria.
” I and my Party will not hesitate to challenge the outcome legally if we are convinced that any result emanating from today’s governorship elections falls short of the standards set by the extant electoral laws regarding election management in Nigeria”, he stated.
He enjoined participants in the elections in the State to play by the rules, as this will translate into having a governor accepted by the majority of voters who voted freely for the winner.
