A call has gone out to Rivers people to join the protest against fulani herdsmen activities in Ogoniland scheduled to hold on Tuesday July 1, 2025.
The call was contained in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People( MOSOP), Comr. Imeabe Saviour Oscar,
Oscar who is also the National President South-South Youths Initiative and Chairman Coalition of Rivers State Youth Bodies, disclosed that the protest will take place at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
The statement read, “We, the concerned citizens of Ogoniland, are compelled to address the escalating violence and insecurity perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in our communities.
“The recent attacks in Nyokuru, Ebubu, Sogho, and Ue-ken, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives, have brought our collective patience to a breaking point.
“In light of these tragic events, we are calling for a peaceful protest to demand action from the authorities to protect our people and our lands.
” We demand that the authorities take immediate and decisive action to stop the Fulani herdsmen’s attacks on our communities.
” We call for increased security measures to protect the lives and property of Ogoni people.
“We demand justice for the victims of these attacks and their families.
“We urge all genuine supporters and indigenes of Ogoni to join us in this protest.
” Together, we can make our voices heard and demand the protection and security that our people deserve.
“Let us stand united and demand an end to the violence and insecurity in our communities. Enough is enough!
