A group under the aegis of Ikwerre Federation Union (IFU) over the weekend at Obiri Ikwerre, the central town hall meeting place of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality in Rivers state, endorsed the governorship ambition of Prince Ugo Beke, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate and vowed to support him in his election bid for the plum job.
The President of the group, Dr. Paul Wowhor in his speech during the presentation of a merit award on leadership and corporate governance on Beke, said the APGA candidate was adopted because of his fervent committment to the promotion of democratic ideals and sterling performance in public service.
He further stated that Prince Beke’s endorsement was also considered based on his track record as an excellent administrator  and gentleman that demonstrated sufficient  capacity, administrative acumen and rich intellectual corpus.
The President called on the people of Rivers state to throw their support behind the APGA candidate to enable him transform the state better.
He said that it was not in doubt that Beke has done so well in business, banking and other spheres of life, hence the need for him to be supported by all and sundry
Wowhor maintained that Beke has the requisite experience and leadership exposure to succeed in the tasks ahead, pointing out that the group will become a mouth piece to promote his governorship ambition.
” Beke was a former banker and member of the Board of Abuja Investment and infrastructural Agency. Also, a member of the Governing Council of African Peer Review Mechanism, to mention but a few. He performed very well”.
In his response, Prince Beke who was represented by the coordinating chairman of Ugo Beke Campaign Council, High Chief Sunnie Chukumele, thanked the organization for bestowing the award on him, stating that it would spur him to do more.
Ikwerre Federation Union is a group saddled with human capital development of Ikwerre youths. It is an affiliate of Ogbakor Ikwerre, the apex cultural organization of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality.
