The family of Mrs Glory Essien, whose son, late Kiki Benson died in mysterious circumstances at his workplace, M.V. Bethel, a sea going vessel owned and operated by Maxofis Synergy Link limited, in Rivers state, has called on the Commiasioner of Police to launch a thorough investigation into his death.

Kiki was said to have died in unexplainable circumstances on the 10th of August 2025.

Speaking with Journalists, an uncle of the deceased, Israel Benson Nwoko, said that the family members were called by Chinwe, the girlfriend of late Kiki, who told them that the manager of the company, Ekwere Akang had called and informed her that late Kiki got drowned on the 10th of August.

Nwoko also said the family later got another call from Chinwe informing them that a staff of the company, John Utana who was also a friend to late Kiki, later called and informed her that the body of late Kiki had been found on the 12th of August and that he has been buried.

Speaking further, Nwoko expressed shock why their son’s corpse would be buried by the company without the knowledge of his family members and called on the police to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile when contacted, the manager of the company Ekwere Akang, explained that the family members where contacted before the burial took place, noting that a member of the family who he identified as Otto, attended it.
