Rivers electorate have decried the absence of Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, at polling units.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were yet to arrive at most Polling Units within the Galadimawa, Lokogoma and Dakwo Districts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, as at 9:30am.
Some of the electorate wh spoke to Metronetworknews lamented how they have waited to be accredited for the Presidential election at their polling units in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state.
At PU 30-15-02-008 and PU 30-15-02-008 located at Eliowhani town in Obio Akpor LGA, Congress Court Estate and Ci electorate and police officers were seen, patiently waiting for the sensitive materials to arrive.
” I was here as early as 6am, This is past 10:00am and no INEC and its officials are nowhere to be found. According to INEC scheduled time, accreditation and voting was suppose to start at 8 am till 2 pm” a voter, who pleaded to remain anonymous lamented.
Though INEC officials have yet to arrive, the electorate were seen, coordinating and issuing numbers to themselves.
