One of the key gladiators in the ADC coalition, Peter Obi has been told to caution Obidients against blackmailing and intimidating other leaders of the party.

A concerned Nigerian and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who told Obi this in a press release in reaction to a statement ascribed to one of the political pillars of ADC, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, being circulated through various social media outlets, warned that doing so was a bad idea that would lead to negative outcomes.

While acknowledging that some sections of the ADC have deployed sinister strategy that will not augur well for the future of the party, Eze flayed recent actions and utterances of the Obedient Movement, a political bloc loyal to Mr Peter Obi.

He alleged that obidients framed Amaechi as saying, “I was struck by Peter Obi’s brilliance, composure, and leadership. He embodies the qualities I admire in Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, and Yar’Adua—someone I’ve long looked up to and aspired to emulate”.

Chief Eze, a close ally of Amaechi said that that statement was a false narrative as Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (CRA), never made such a contraption.

“We don’t have any Rotimi Amechi as reflected in the said fake report. What we have in the ADC is ‘Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’ (CRA), nevertheless, the statement is totally false.

“It was borne out of the fickle imagination of those wallowing in murky waters of illusion and desperation, who are out to blackmail and run down Amaechi and others. They are playing mind, hide and seek game, ahead the ADC’s race to pick a presidential candidate. It is bad this way”, Eze stated.

He recalled that similar acts have also been made against Atiku Abubakar and other key actors of the ADC.

“This act is not only unacceptable and reprehensible but totally condemnable. I do plead with Peter Obi to caution some members of his Obedient Movement that have decided that this strategy is the best to be adopted in the build up to picking the presidential candidate of the party.

“This is such an untoward practice and devious strategy that cannot fetch anyone the ADC ticket.

“The ADC Presidential ticket to the best of my knowledge and that of Nigerians is graciously open, there’s no doubt about that. It’s only a matter of time and everything will take shape. We must not be in a hurry to capsize our ship due to personal aggrandizement.

“I therefore appeal to my brother, Peter Obi and his loyalists to exercise restraint, avoid desperation and blackmail of any magnitude and not to rock a cruise boat on a patriotic sail”, he  cautioned.

While advising Obi to remain focused, patriotic and visionary, Eze said; “ADC is on a mission to rescue Nigeria from the hands of Tinubu whose administration has brought untold misery to Nigerians and made Nigeria a laughing stock in the comity of nations.

“ADC’s mission of sending Tinubu back to his Lagos Bourdillon residence is not a fluke and not in doubt, but if the key actors don’t unite to pursue this patriotic vision, Tinubu and his cohorts may succeed in unleashing untold punishment on Nigeria and Nigerians”.

He noted that the fate of Nigeria and Nigerians lays on ADC to rescue her from the hands of these unpatriotic elements currently ruining the country.

“Nobody is in doubt that Atiku, Amaechi and Obi are the three leading presidential candidates in ADC and each one of them have the credential, sagacity and plan to rescue Nigeria out of her present sorry State and should any of these great leaders be castigated or undermined for any reason patriotic Nigerians will not tolerate such. The fact remains that this trio must work together in all honesty and unity of purpose to achieve the vision of rescuing Nigeria and Nigerians. There will be no shortcut to victory if there is last minute betrayal.

“Nigerians will not forgive them should they fail to put their acts together and unite in this onerous task, God has placed on them to salvage Nigeria’s dieing democracy and from bad leadership”.

Furthermore, the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), expressed dismay over utterances by some key supporters of Obi, suggesting that if he fails to get the presidential ticket of ADC, then the party will cease to exist.

He said, “This stand is not only unfortunate, pathetic and demeaning, but unacceptable, shameful, unidealogical and unpatriotic to most Nigerians who are in love and support of the ADC movement.

“We must accept the fact that out of these three leading presidential candidates, only one will be elected to fly the flag of the party come 2027, and for a section of the party to think that without them the party will not fly is absurd, boastful and selfish”.

He appealed to all and sundry to guide their acts maturely and wait for the ADC Presidential primary, assuring that whosoever emerges victorious will be supported by all and sundry as that is the only way to prove to Nigerians that ADC will not turn to another APC that promised much to Nigerians while taking the country to hellfire.

“The time to learn and correct the mistake of 2023, is now, except some persons are on a mission to destabilize ADC; if not, with a formidable front, regardless of who picks the party’s presidential ticket, Tinubu’s tenure will soon become history.

“As a patriotic Nigerian who is desirous of a pragmatic, united and progressive Nigeria, it was high time, key figures of the ADC shoved aside personal ego and work towards presenting a formidable front in order to wrest power from the present All Progressives Congress (APC) government, led by President Bola Tinubu, come 2027 general elections”, he stated.
