A new coronavirus variant has been detected in South Africa.
The variant according to scientists is of serious concern owing to its high number of mutations and rapid spread among young people.
Reports say the cases of the variant have been found in Botswana and there has been one case in Hong Kong, in a patient who had recently visited South Africa.
