A musician identified as Chika Ofor has reportedly slumped and died on his band’s stage some minutes after coming up to perform at a burial ceremony for a 94-year-old man, at Amuzukwu, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.
It was gathered that Ofor, after slumping, allegedly started vomiting and was taken off the stage by some people at the ceremony and helped into his car, marked APR 520 KX.
It was also gathered that the musician was discovered dead inside his car in the morning of Saturday.
It could not be established if the late singer was suffering from any major health challenge before his death.
But there were allegations on social media that Ofor may have been poisoned through food even before climbing the stage.
It was learnt that his kinsmen from Bende community and some other sympathizers evacuated body of the late singer to a mortuary.
All efforts to get confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka proved abortive.
