Mrs Judith Amaechi has debunked the allegation by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike that
she was receiving N4 billion monthly payment from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Mrs. Amaechi who is the wife of the ex governor of Rivers state and former Minister of Transportation, dismissed the allegation in a statement signed by her media assistant, Dike Bekwele, on Tuesday.
She described the minister’s claims as baseless,” insisting that neither her nor ESI had ever received such funds from the Commission.
The wife of the ex governor, challenged the minister to make public his version of the forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission where either herself or ESI was indicted.
Furthermore, she stated that Mr. Wike made the allegation to score cheap political goals.
“The allegation that ESI receives ₦4 billion monthly from NDDC is completely untrue. ESI was established in 2011 as a duly incorporated non-governmental organisation focused on empowering youths and women through skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development.
“ESI’s collaboration with the NDDC is based on signed Memoranda of Understanding for jointly funding human capacity development, vocational training, and entrepreneurial support for women and youths in the Niger Delta region.
“These partnerships are transparent and open to public scrutiny. Since inception, our programmes have provided empowerment for thousands of beneficiaries.
