Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah has revealed the goal scored at Anfield against AC Milan in the UEFA champions League as his best for last month.
This happened immediately after he was announced the winner of Liverpool’s chartered men’s player of the month award for the September beating runner-up Curtis Jones to it on the official club site.
Salah has enjoyed the award for the second consecutive month running.
Over the month, Salah found the back of the net six times in five appearances helping his team to maintain a perfect start in domestic and European League.
When asked about his favourite goal for last month, he said as noted by Liverpool official website;”maybe I choose Milan, the first time I scored against them in the champions League.”
“Also we were 2-1 down, so it was an important goal to get us back in the game, so I can choose this one”
In the UEFA champions League game at Anfield against Milan, Liverpool led early in the ninth minutes of the encounter through Fikayo Tomori’s own goal but Milan responded and took control with two superb strikes from Ante Rebic and Brahimi Diaz in the 42nd and 44th minutes apiece.
Three minutes into the second half salah restored parity for the home side before Henderson gave Liverpool all the three points in the 69th minute of the encounter.
In the same month, salah became the fastest Liverpool player to achieve the feat of hitting 100 top-flight goals in the league.
So he added “of course I’m very proud. To secure any goal for me it’s very important but to score the fastest 100 goal for Liverpool is something special.”
“I’m always trying to score goals, always trying to help the team. But this one I think is more special to be the fastest one to score 100 goals.”
He went further to talked about his decisive goal that secured the point in a 2-2 stalemate against Manchester City:
“The atmosphere was great, that is what makes it more special, the fans, the Anfield atmosphere.”
“We enjoyed the game; not in our top performance but in the second half, we struck back and the atmosphere helps us a lot to play a good game.”
“We have to give our best always to win something and I think we have the quality for that.”
“We have a top team, so we have to push ourselves to the limit and try to win something.”
“Everybody thinks the same, that’s what we need just to keep in our head that we have to finish the season winning something.”
Liverpool travel to Vicarage road on Saturday to face Watford and Salah will be hoping to continue with his fine goal scoring form.
