The Caretaker Executive Committee Members and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ngo Town Ward 1, headquarters of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has urged the general public to ignore the purported suspension of Awaji-Inombek Dagomie Abiante, member representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency and Leader of the party in Andoni LGA.
In a statement signed by Hon. Owuokagakemi Lawrence, Chairman, CTC Ward 1, Ngo Town Andoni and Comr. Otuokwun Jumbo Stephen Secretary, CTC Ward 1, Ngo Town Andoni, respectively, the CTC exco, said the purported suspension of Abiante was illegal.
They said the suspension which was announced on Tuesday came from non members of the party.
”Both Mr. Dike Bara and Dokubor Jackson are not members and/or officials of the party at any point in time, rather they are impostors and have no legal right by the party’s constitution to make any such announcement.
”Their names are not even in the party register. So, claiming to be officials of our party in Ward 1 and purportedly announcing the suspension of Rep. Awaji-inombek Dagomie Abiante PhD, from the party is unlawful and should be disregarded by the general public.
”If anyone is to be suspended from the party for impersonation, it is Mr. Dike Bara, Dokubor Jackson and their sponsors who are bent on destroying the peace of Andoni Local Government Area”.
Furthermore, the statement noted that Rep. Awaji-inombek Dagomie Abiante was still a valid member of the Peoples Democratic Party and leader of the party in Andoni Local Government Area.
It reiterated that the PDP Ward 1 Ngo Town Headquarters of Andoni LGA is intact, and no amount of propaganda can destabilize the support base of Abiante.
It called on Abiante’s supporters and party faithfuls in Ngo Town Ward 1, Andoni to remain calm, peaceful and focus towards supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who has demonstrated huge love to our people in less than a year in office.
