The Motailatu Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God, Oke-Idahun Parish located along Imafon Road, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state has been attacked and set ablaze by hoodlums.
Disclosing this in a statement by the Resident Minister of the church, Very Rev’d David Akinadewo-Adekahunsi, said the footprints of the attackers were discovered when he got to the church premises Friday evening.
He revealed that the attackers damaged lectern on the altar, tithe box and window net, adding that many plastic chairs belonging to the church and offering trays were set ablaze as well.
The Minister, said to also be a journalist, added that hymn books and other items kept in a room in the building were not spared, describing it as “the malicious damage brought upon the House of Prayer.”
It was gathered that they could not gain access to the prayer room because of the burglary proof.
The resident Minister noted that the matter had been reported at the Oda Divisional Police Headquarters, Akure.
