No fewer than six persons were reportedly killed as gunmen suspected to be cultists Monday, attacked Kono, Boue and Gwara communities in Khana Local Government of Rivers state.
Metronetworknews gathered that the gunmen attacked Gwara community in the morning hours and shot three persons dead.
They also invaded Kono and Boue communities later in the afternoon and shot another three person dead.
Following the invasion, we learnt that many natives have fled the communities to neighbouring towns.
The Public Relations Officer of Community Development Community (CDC) of Kono, Boue Nwibakpo Golden in an interview with newsmen disclosed that three persons were killed in his community while some natives had fled the place.
He appealed to the government to site a Police Division in the community as well as rehabilitate the bad portion of the roads in the area to effectively tackle the incessant attack by gunmen.
When contacted the spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni told our reporter that he was unaware of the attacks and would get back to him.
