A group under the aegis of Niger Delta Rescue Movement has threatened to disrupt oil production in Rivers state if the federal allocation due to the state are not released, urging non- indigenes to leave the oil-rich state.
The group made this known in a video posted on the social media, today.
” If the federal allocation due to Rivers state are not released promptly we will have no choice but to take decisive action, including hitting oil production.
“We can’t generate money to Federation account and not have our own share, our workers deserve their salary, our government need the necessary resources to carry out essential development projects.
“We urge all non indigenes to consider their safety and leave the state as the situation may escalate” , it said.
In the message, the group also said that it was concerned about the crisis in the state, threatening its smooth governance under the leadership of Gov. Siminalayi Fubara.
It urged President Bola Tinubu to call the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Nyesom Wike to order, who according to them is hello bent on destabilising the state.
” We call on President Bola Tinubu to intervene immediately and put a stop to the actions of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and his associates who seem to be in pain and dragging Rivers state into avoidable crisis.
” The people of Rivers state deserves stability, progress and a conducive environment for governance”, the group stated.
