The former Minister of Transport and Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, Dr. Abiye Sekibo has refuted claims by Gov. Nyesome Wike that some road projects were awarded to him (Sekibo) in different parts of the state.
The DG who made the refutal in a message he sent to a radio station in Port Harcurt, denied that no contract was awarded. to him
He noted that such claim was laughable and far from the truth.
It would be recalled that Gov. Wike had during the inauguration of 319 Ward and 32 Constituency Liaison Officers in Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday, listed a number of projects his administration awarded to Dr. Sekibo.
The governor explained that the N2.1 billion Okrika sand-filling project and 2 Billion Okochiri internal road, for which the sum of N1. 3 billion and N1.6 Billion have been paid respectively, were awarded to Dr Sekibo. Including the N1.4 Billion contract for the Okujaku Street, Danjuma Drive in Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt.
