Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has called on Rivers state Governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, to expedite action in reviving the economically viable and people-oriented projects of the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi administration.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze, enumerated the projects as the Songhai farm that had over 2000 Rivers people in its employ; the Banana Plantation in Tai, the Buguma, fish farm as well as the Greater Port Harcourt City project and more.
He said the projects when revived would go a long way towards creating opportunities for job creation, skill development, investment opportunities and revenue mobilization for the state, adding that they have the potential for improving local economy; all in the interest of the state and her people.
Eze in the statement said that he joins the good people of Rivers State to cling glasses in commemoration of Gov. Siminalayi Fubara’s One-Year-In-Office and 57th anniversary of the creation of Rivers State
Describing his reign within a short period as substantially satisfying despite pockets of schemed distractions orchestrated by detractors to destabilize the state for self-serving ends, Chief Eze said with the litany of projects scattered across the length and breath of the state under his watch coupled with his manly fight against acts that plague the conscience, Gov. Fubara has definitely emblazoned his name for eons and will continue to break new grounds in his determination to realign the state on the path of true progress and reclaim her battered image and pride of place in the comity of states in the country.
He noted that the state has faired far better within 12 months under Gov. Fubara than it faired under the eight-year rule of his predecessor whose focus centered on material acquisition and avaricious land grabbing with no socio-economic impact commensurate with the trillions of taxpayers money made available to him for use to administer the state for the benefit of all.
The APC Chief restated that the entrance of Sir Siminalayi Fubara as Governor was a divine orchestration; an answer to the wailing of the poor masses who constantly prayed and earnestly waited with long-suffering for an end to the previous administration where cankerworms and caterpillars impudently burrowed through the common patrimony and left the ordinary people in want.
He said Rivers people will remain eternally grateful to Gov. Fubara for making himself available as a divine tool to end a regime that impoverished the poor and left the rich bankrupt; an era of fanfare of squander mania that left people in squalor without a hint of remorse.
”Wike’s regime was characterized by very obtrusive and boastful rhetoric but sluggish in performance and his administrative incompetence left a heavy debt burden of over N200 billion (owed to contractors for sundry projects) on the current administration despite false claims peddled in the media that he paid all contractors in full.
”Since he took over the reins of power, Nigerians will be marveled at the cornucopia of demand letters on Gov. Fubara from contractors asking for balance of contract sums for completed and un-completed projects which his government inherited from the Wike administration, yet the Governor has carried on with the complex task of delivering democratic dividends without excuses with an impressive record of timely delivery of a gale of multi-sectoral achievements to his credit.
”Gov. Fubara’s sincerity of service, ambitious efforts and bold leadership trajectory within the short-while he has held sway underscores his stack resolve to return the pride that comes with being a citizen of the oil-rich Niger Delta state that ones prided itself as the garden city of Nigeria.
”After knowing all these feats within one year of the administration of Fubara, it is sad to note the comment of one self acclaimed Rivers State APC CTC Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha who is not even a card carrying member of APC asserting that Fubara has not achieved anything since he assumed office thereby exposing himself as a merchant Politician and nothing else”, he stated.
Eze urged Gov. Fubara to remain focused, undeterred and shun detractors who do not mean well for the state and prayed God to continue to equip him with all it it takes to navigate the state on Canaan side.
