Thousands of fun seekers today trooped to Port Harcourt Pleasure Park to celebrate Christmas amid the existence of Coronavirus in Rivers state.
Metronetworknews reporter who visited the park, observed that the place was filled with fun seekers.
He also observed that many fun seekers shunned the COVID-19 protocols put in place to curb the spread of the virus even as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) had advised Nigerians to avoid crowd places and large gathering, which could increase the chances of getting or spreading COVID-19.
A fun seekers, Mr. Sunday Omubo who visited the park with his three children said he came with his family to catch fun.
Speaking further, he said he was unperturbed by NCDC’s advice to reduce group size for Christmas celebration because he still doubts the existence of coronavirus.
Another resident of Port Harcourt, Miss Gloria Oluchi, who visited the park, wished away the COVID-19 protocol, stating that her protection comes from God.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC), had called on Nigerians to take necessary precautions for a safe and healthy Christmas and New year celebrations.
