The All Progresives Grand Alliance Governorship candidate in Rivers state, Prince Ugo Beke, has visited victims of Oilmill market fire disaster to console them.
He promised to provide palliatives to cushion the effect of the disaster and their business.
The APGA candidate who visited the scene of the fire incident on Saturday was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Carol Beke and the Coordinating Chairman of Ugo Beke Campaign Council, High Chief Sunnie Chukwumele, Chief Friday Owhonda and other members of the campaign council.
Speaking at the scene, Prince Beke consoled the victims and expressed concern on the magnitude of the fire disaster, which ran into millions of naira.
He told the victims to bear the loss and promised to come up with palliatives as succour to cushion the effects of the loses.
One of the victims, a widow had told him that she lost yam tubers worth several hundreds of naira, which she said was from the loan she obtained to engage in the business.
She said her concern was how to pay the loan and continue with her business.
The APGA candidate showed much concern and promised to assist her immensely to keep the business going.
He also promised that should he emerge as the governor he will rebuild the market and equip it with state-of-the-art fire fighting facilities.
