A supporter of  Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, Dr. S. U. Duke has condemned the visit by some stakeholders of the Rivers state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC)  to Chief Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territoritory(FCT) and leader of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Recall that Chief Hon Victor Giadom, the National Vice Chairman South South Zone of the APC, led a high-powered delegation of leaders and stakeholders of APC in Rivers State on a visit to  Wike in his office in Abuja, on Thursday.

The visit, according to the Rivers APC leaders, was to congratulate Wike on his appointment as Honorable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to thank Mr president for  his choice  as first Rivers person to occupy the office of FCT Minister.

The delegation in an address read on their behalf by Chief Giadom, pledged their loyalty, solidarity and reaffirmed the confidence of Rivers APC in the capacity of  Wike to deliver on the renewed hope agenda of the Tinubu-led government.

Those on the delegation were; Chief Victor Giadom, Chief Ibinabo Michael West, Engr. Sampson Ngerebara, Hon Joe Poroma,  Barr Isaac Abott Ogbobula, Prof Lawrence Chukwu, Prof John Imegi and  Hon Allen Nmah.

Others include;  Hon Chikordi Dike, Dr Demua Ledee Demua, Rt. Hon Ike Chinwo, Rt Hon Edwin Oludi, Hon Kingsley Leh, Hon Awori Miller, Barr Solomon Ebeku and Hon Austin Ahiamadu.

Also,  Hon Sam Nwoka,  Barr Chima Obinna,  Dr Sudor Nwiyor, Chief Amamina Ofisoka,  George Okwomanwogba.,  Hon Neemene Biiragbara,  Hon Chibuike Ikenga and  Chief Eric Nwibani.

Fourteen  Rivers APC LGA Chairmen  were also in attendance.

They included;   Hon Salvation Ezegwogwo – Ahuda East. Prince C German – Ahuda West, Superintendent A. Adoki – Abua Odual, Hon Dickson Youngman – Degema, Hon. Godwin Allwell – Ogu/Bolo, Barr Barisuka Micheal – Tai,  Sule Gift Ebadee – Khana, Hon Second Bakor – Gokana,  Mr. Moses Jaja – Opobo/Nkoro,  Chief Felix Jonah Awaji – Andoni, Chief Samuel N Azu – Oyigbo,  Hon Godfrey Oluo – Omuma, Chief Sydney Madu Nyeche – Obio/Akpor,  Hon Franklin Eze Aribodor – Ikwere and  Dr. Christian Ogbowu – ONELGA.

Reacting to the development, Duke said; ” It is not only embarrassing but show of shame and irresponsible solidarity visit.

Continuing he said, ”I blasted them on Facebook when I stumbled on a post concerning the visit. It is a  betrayal of collective aspirations,  stomach infrastructure, short sightedness. Where has political ideology gone?. Mix bag of unsolicited political romance. I resent this hollow characters, many I respected till this charade of visit.

”This raises the question of lack of contentment? many here can conveniently run their life without blinking but the quest and greed to remain in political space and benefit of free fall money has seen them jettison their dignity and rating in the society.

” I weep for Rivers politics. This group has dealt what remains of opposition a big blow in my beloved Rivers State. Amaechi Chibuike don’t deserve this huge betrayal and abandonement”, he lamented.
