President Muhamamadu Buhari has received the final report of the forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Godswill Akpabio.
The documents conveyed in sacks were received by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who represented the President.
President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that unscrupulous Nigerians involved in the misappropriation of six trillion naira pumped into the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC would be made to cough out the missing funds.
Buhari while receiving the report said no one indicted for shady deals in the NDDC would be spared no matter how highly placed.
To demonstrate the federal government’s seriousness, the President ordered that the report be made available to the Federal Ministry of Justice for legal advice, which will pave way for the prosecution of the indicted people.
In his remarks shortly before handing over the report, Akpabio, disclosed that the forensic audit covered a total of 13,777 contracts awarded from 2001 to 2019 at a final contract value of N3, 274,206,032,213.24.
