Ten persons were crushed to death when a trailer conveying noodles in a container fell on a Sienna commercial bus at Uratta Junction in Abia state.
A trader who preferred to remain anonymous, said the accident occurred at about 8.15 am on Saturday.
She explained that the accident was caused by the bad road in the area.
She added that 11 people were involved in the accident which comprised 2 men and 9 women, saying that 10 persons died while 1 person narrowly escaped.
she said the passengers were mostly traders travelling from Port Harcourt to Aba to buy goods at the Ariaria market.
Narrating how she escaped from the accident , the trader said,” I also borded the Sienna bus at Artillery Junction in Port Harcourt but later came down because another bus that came charged N800 while the Sienna collected N1000.
“The Sienna car left before our bus. As we got to Uratta junction, I saw that it was involved in a fatal accident, which left 10 people dead. I observed that It carried 8 passengers at the back seat, 2 in the front seat and the driver, making 11 people in the car.
” I thank God for bringing me out of the Sienna car and saving my life”, she said.
