The Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (IHRHL), a non governmental organization promoting human rights and good governance, has condemned the attack of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin and his soldiers.
IHRHL made the condemnation in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by its Executive Director, Courage Nsirimovu.
The statement called on the international community to rise up beyond sanctions and assist Ukraine to resist Russian invasion by all means.
It stated that if Russia is allowed to successfully invade and take over a sovereign nation, a bad precedent will be set for other super powers like China, South Korea, Iran etc, easily invade and take over less powerful or emerging nations and lead to global impunity that will easily destabilize world peace which the UN seeks to preserve.
It contended that in extreme times as this, the use of commensurate force is needed to be applied by the international community to defend Ukraine.
The statement called on NATO to quickly assist Ukraine to stop further escalation of Russians inhumanity to the human race.
“We are inextricately caught up to one network of mutuality, whatever affects Ukraine directly, affects the entire humanity indirectly”, it stated.
Furthermore, it called on the good people of the world to specifically pray for this act of Russia to stop in Ukraine and generally pray for global peace.
