Bishop of the Diocese of Evo, Anglican Communion, Rivers State, the Rt. Rev Innocent Uchechukwu Ordu, JP, has lamented the state of affairs of the nation, calling on the federal government to address the issues to restore peace, unity, progress and security in Nigeria.
Bishop Ordu who spoke at the Diocesan 2021 synod, expressed worry over the worsening insecurity in the country.
Said the Bishop:.”Evils that other nations abhor, Nigeria has become notorious for condoning them”.
He listed the ills as follows: social injustice, nepotism, ethnicity, sectionalism, religiosity devoid of true godliness, militancy, banditry and unknown gunmen
Other ills, he said, are kidnapping for ransome, emergence of seperàtist and secessionist movements, insensitive leadership and genocide against Christian communities, among others.
Rt Rev Ordu urged both the government and all. concerned Nigerians to address these issues in a godly manner so that everyone will be happy and proud to be a Nigerian.
Furthermore, he charged all Christians, especially Evo Diocese faithful to continue doing good, and acts of mercy and charity, no matter the frustrations they may encounter.
