A university don aspiring to contest for president under the platform of People’s Democratic party (PDP) come 2023, Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies has called on professionals and all Nigerians to give her the deserved support to make a difference in governance and political landscape of the country.
Speaking when N-Power group (U win, I win), paid her a courtesy call in her office in Port Harcourt, Prof. Adesanya-Davies said, Nigeria will witness better governance if she is given the mandate to rule the country.
“Nigeria will witness better governance, delivery of dividends of democracy, massive employment, accelerated economic development, improved health delivery, massive human capital development, massive infrastructural development, aggressive fight against corruption, improved welfare for Nigerian workers, and the masses, functional, effective, efficient, accessible and affordable education, when I become the president of Nigeria. As a detribalised Nigeria, services of true and capable technocrats shall be engaged”, she stated.
She admonished the group to mobilise youths, women and men to campaign and vote for a female president in Nigeria in 2023.
She said if Nigerians elect a female president that it will be a turning point in the nation’s history.
“It will be an honour to have Nigeria’s first female president. If Nigerians can give women a chance to rule, I am sure we will never regret it”, she said.
The varsity don thanked the group for finding time to visit and endorse her.
Earlier, the Director-General of N-POWER(U-win, I-win), Hon.Ogbukwu Anthony, said the group decided to endorse Prof. Adesanya- Davies because of her intelligence,creativity, consistency, developmental strides, motherly disposition and mentorship towards the students community and society at large.
He informed the varsity don that the group is an association initiated by, and made up of Nigerian daring youths in the 36 states of the country.
“N-POWER group( U-win, I-win) is already drawing participants from LGA to LGA, state to state and the entire country towards the 2023 elections”,he said.
